As an organization, the ECCC (Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference) does not have a formal registration process - instead, collegiate and high school teams register directly with USA Cycling. USA Cycling has a dedicated page for collegiate cycling, which includes the forms and information summarized below.
Both USA Cycling and the ECCC recognize that barriers may exist that get in the way of creating a team, including school policies, financial barriers, and delays in the registration process. There are official USA Cycling policies that grant some additional options (such as Policy 6C4, "Unattached Club Riders", pg 115 in USA Cycling Rulebook Version 7-2024), and the ECCC grants teams some flexibility if they run into issues. Please contact our Conference Director if you have questions or need any assistance.
You will need the following items each year you register your team with USA Cycling.
Someone (you?) named as the president of your club. (Optionally: a vice president, and/or licensed coach)
Permission/authorization by your college/university/school for your club to represent your school
Annual license fee ($125.00/year as of 2025) - waived for the first year!
Ensure the club president has a current USA Cycling license
Consider getting a (cheaper) collegiate license - you may need to select an option like "My Team is Not Listed" until your club is fully registered.
Consider checking for current discount codes for new/returning members.
Fill out the USA Cycling Club Application Form
Have an official representative at your school (e.g. athletic director, club sports director) fill out the USA Cycling Collegiate Team Eligibility Form
Send both forms to USA Cycling (directions are included on the club application form)
If you require assistance or need clarification about any of the steps required to register with USA Cycling, please consult USA Cycling's Collegiate Cycling page, the USA Cycling Rulebook, and the Collegiate Policy Document. If your question is not answered there, please contact USA Cycling at collegiate@usacycling.org; you may also include us in the conversation.
If you have any other questions about participating in the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference, please contact us!
Please see our information for team officers for additional resources and guidance for creating a new team!

All large collegiate teams should be registered with USA Cycling, and students must be registered under an active team to participate in USA Cycling Collegiate Nationals.
However, USA Cycling and the ECCC recognize that not all students are able to create a team. Some additional options are listed below.
If your school has a policy that "hinders the ability of the student to create a collegiate cycling team", you may petition USA Cycling to race as an unattached club rider, as per the USA Cycling rulebook [Section 6C4]. Please contact USA Cycling at collegiate@usacycling.org for more information and to petition to participate as an unattached club rider.
If you are not currently a student at a college/university/high school, many of our events are open to all! Please see the information for each event listed on our event calendars.
